Your Key IAP Actions

Law Enforcement Notes

  • There will be an “active shooter” simulator on site wearing a RED VEST. He will carry a “blue gun” (training replica) and actively simulate shooting or assaulting victims on your arrival. Gunfire is a simple verbal “bang.” Use care and safe control in your simulated neutralization.
  • Simulated victims will be wearing orange vests / injury shirts with patient cards describing their injuries and status — manage them as appropriate.
  • Execute the law enforcement actions of the I.A.P. to the greatest extent possible. Contact teams, rescue taskforce and perimeter are observable — anything that isn’t must be vocalized via radio or simulated to a controller.
  • The exercise is timed. All critical actions are evaluated precisely at 1 hour into the activity — yes, this includes a full Incident Command. The Lead Controller will add challenges and ask questions along the way.
  • This is less about speed than actually walking through the entire plan. Tactics ARE NOT being evaluated — overall strategy and objectives are.
  • An exercise controller is embedded with your law group, identified by uniform AND vocal designation. Refer questions to him/her throughout.
  • Our goal is 2 “runs” during the 3-hour timeframe. This will be a high-paced activity.
